Membrane or depth — the short answer
Depth cartridges trap particles throughout the media; they hold a lot of dirt and are used upstream. Membrane cartridges have an absolute rating and are used for final and sterilizing steps. - Fluid and chemistry — water, solvent, syrup, API solution or gas.
- Temperature and any steaming or sanitisation.
- Rating — the particle or microorganism size to remove.
- Flow rate and pressure drop allowed.
- Size and fitting — length, end cap and existing housing.
- Documents QA needs for validation.
