Who the ms1000 is for

  • Pharma QC labs identifying environmental monitoring and OOS isolates every week.
  • Food and beverage labs tracking spoilage organisms and contaminants.
  • Research and university labs working across bacteria, yeasts and moulds.

If you send isolates out today, or use slow biochemical kits, the ms1000 brings identification in-house. Need more speed per plate? Compare it with the Autof ms2000 (about 960 samples per hour) on the series page.

How it works

  1. 1SpotColony + matrix
  2. 2RunLoad the 96-spot plate
  3. 3ReadName + confidence score

The ms1000 reads each organism’s protein fingerprint with MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and matches it against its reference database.

  1. Spot a colony on the disposable 96-spot target plate and add matrix.
  2. Load the plate and start the run.
  3. Review the organism name and confidence score.

Hands-on time for a full plate of 96 samples is under 20 minutes.

Applications

  • Environmental monitoring — identify isolates by room and location and build trends
  • OOS and deviation investigations — name the organism to narrow the root cause
  • Water systems — recognise water-borne organisms
  • Food and beverage — identify spoilage organisms and contaminants
  • Research microbiology

What changes in daily lab work

  • Every relevant isolate identified, not just the few you can afford to send out.
  • Same-day answers during investigations.
  • Disposable target plates — no plate cleaning between runs.
  • Results in your own records, ready for trending and audits.

Independent evaluation

The ms1000 has been compared with the Bruker Biotyper in a peer-reviewed study.
